August 14th 2017 - Lake Bogoria

Since there were only few flamin­gos in Lake Naku­ru at the moment, we made an excur­sion to Lake Bogo­ria, a soda lake 110 km away, where, accord­ing to the research of our guide Eric, there should be a large num­ber of flamingos.

After the break­fast we start­ed. The trip took a about 2 hours and led us over the equa­tor. But it was absolute­ly worth it! The lake was pink with flamin­gos. They were there in incred­i­ble num­bers (accord­ing to our guide’s esti­mate 1-2 mil­lion indi­vuals) and you could get very close to them. I took over 1000 pho­tos there in a short time.
