August 14th 2017 - Lake Bogoria
Since there were only few flamingos in Lake Nakuru at the moment, we made an excursion to Lake Bogoria, a soda lake 110 km away, where, according to the research of our guide Eric, there should be a large number of flamingos.
After the breakfast we started. The trip took a about 2 hours and led us over the equator. But it was absolutely worth it! The lake was pink with flamingos. They were there in incredible numbers (according to our guide’s estimate 1-2 million indivuals) and you could get very close to them. I took over 1000 photos there in a short time.
