August 15th to 22nd 2017 - Masai Mara

05:45, our last breakfast in Nakuru. The Flamingo Hills Camp was very nice. Again we have a long tour ahead of us today. First we drive to Lake Naivasha and do a boat safari. Afterwards we are heading to the Masai Mara, our last destination of the trip. We are accommodated there again in the Mara Bush Camp - Private Wing. We have already been there twice. Yesterday another guest in Nakuru remarked: “if Africa is a meal then Masai Mara is the main course”.

August 15th 2017 - Boat safari on Lake Naivasha

First we went to Lake Naivasha, where we arrived around 9:30am. We were already expected by our “captain”.

Boat safari on Lake Naivasha

In the forest directly in front of the boat pier we also found a group of black & white colobus monkeys. From the boat we could observe various birds and hippos, the highlight was an african fish eagle, which our boat guide lured with a fish. Unfortunately I was not fast enough for this action, so that I got only one usable shot.

Here are some pictures of the boat safari:
