Travelogues
Since our elder daughter had been in Japan in 2014 for a 3-month internship as part of her studies, we took the opportunity to visit her there. The country enchanted us. Her younger sister was apparently also so impressed by Japan that she spent a semester abroad in Tsukuba near Tokyo in the winter semester of 2022 / 2023, where we visited her again.
In February 2023, we visited our younger daughter who had just completed her first foreign semester at the University of Tsukuba. Together we traveled through Japan with her as our linguistically skilled guide for over 2 1/2 weeks and visited Tokyo, Hiroshima and Kyōto. Finally, we took a rental car from Kyōto to Fuji-San and explored the surroundings in beautiful weather. Since our daughter already had a pretty good knowledge of the Japanese language and was also very familiar with the country from her stay there for several months, we didn’t feel so foreign this time and experienced Japan much more intensively than before.
Japan! This was a destination we had always thought about. The opportunity first arose when our older daughter completed a 3-month internship there with a company in Osaka as part of her studies in mechanical engineering. We decided to “pick her up” there afterwards and travel through Japan together for 2 weeks during the turn of the year 2014 / 2015. We met her in Osaka and then visited Kyōto, Hiroshima, Tokyo and also took a day trip to Fuji-san.
