At 5:30am on our last full visiting day we were again supplied with hot coffee and cookies by our camp Masai. Tomorrow we will leave for Nairobi for our night flight back to Frankfurt. As usual, we start at 6:15 in the jeep in expectation of a new sunrise in paradise. Once again we were not disappointed.

In the morning we encountered another group of lions and later a Dik Dik antelope, a very small and shy antelope species.

In the afternoon we saw a group of eland antelopes (also called eland), which represent the other extreme of the antelopes. They reach a weight of 500 to 1000 kilograms and a body length of two to three meters. Eland antelopes are the largest antelope species, their shoulder height averages 1.5 metres, and they are as large as cattle. Despite their body size they are very shy and usually flee very early. Therefore we were glad to be able to observe these impressive big animals relatively close in good light.

The rounding-up of our last evening game drive was a sundowner in the Mara, which Eric had organized for us.

Then we went back to the camp, unfortunately we had to prepare for our departure tomorrow.
