I have just received a mes­sage that makes me very sad:

The pop­u­lar web­site DPReview.com is to be closed on April 10th, 2023. The deci­sion to cease oper­a­tions was appar­ent­ly already made by its par­ent com­pa­ny ama­zon at the begin­ning of this year.

DPRe­view has accom­pa­nied me since the begin­ning of my tran­si­tion to dig­i­tal pho­tog­ra­phy. Even before I bought my first dig­i­tal cam­era, an EOS 300D, I stud­ied the cor­re­spond­ing review on DPRe­view intensively.

I always appre­ci­at­ed DPRe­view over the years. The reviews were up-to-date, inde­pen­dent and in-depth. When new prod­ucts that I was inter­est­ed in were intro­duced, I usu­al­ly looked them up on DPRe­view first. I always found the detailed, prac­tice-ori­ent­ed sam­ple images in the reviews and the excel­lent stu­dio-shot com­par­i­son tool very helpful.

I hope, how­ev­er, that per­haps still a solu­tion aris­es and anoth­er own­er is found…
