Canon EOS R5 test on DPReview

It took a long time, but today the in-depth test report of the Canon EOS R5 was finally published on DP Review. However, the test was done with a pre-production model. Apparently even the DPReview crew has problems to get a production model.

As expected, it concludes that the Canon EOS R5 is one of the best cameras currently available on the market. It is fast, has an excellent autofocus, offers high resolution, excellent video quality with many features and has very good ergonomics. Only the well-known overheating problem in the high resolution video modes is criticized.

In the overall rating, the EOS R5 received the DPReview Gold Award and together with the Sony a7 R IV, with a score of 91%, the highest rating of all mirrorless system cameras. Only the EOS 1DX Mk III received an even higher score of 92%, but it is designed for a different application scenario (action / sports / harsh environmental conditions).
