The first firmware update has just been released after less than 1 month of avail­abil­i­ty of the cam­era. Now Canon announces that more free updates, which will sig­nif­i­cant­ly enhance the video mode func­tion­al­i­ty of the cam­era, are avail­able soon.

The fol­low­ing future enhance­ments can be expect­ed soon:

• Canon Log 3 option
• Low­er bit rate option for 8K RAW video recording
• Low­er bit rate option for all the IPB video record­ing modes
• Adding 119.88 fps option for Full HD (1080p) recording

All of these fea­tures were in great demand by users. It is very pleas­ing to see, that Canon obvi­ous­ly lis­tened. This makes the cam­era even more inter­est­ing for more pro­fes­sion­al film pro­duc­tions. That sounds very fas­ci­nat­ing, maybe I will ded­i­cate myself a bit more to film­ing in the future 😉 .
