Mon­teverde is a small town in the moun­tains of Cos­ta Rica. About 3 hours from San Jose, it is a pop­u­lar des­ti­na­tion for vaca­tion­ers. The cloud for­est, named after the mist of clouds under the canopy, offers breath­tak­ing views. The three main reserves Mon­teverde, San­ta Ele­na and Children’s Eter­nal Rain­for­est pro­tect this region. Every year, a quar­ter of a mil­lion tourists vis­it this bio­di­ver­si­ty-rich high­land with 755 tree species.
