The weather on the second day of the year also was good again, the sky was clear with stars. This time we discovered a giraffe, which posed very beautifully for us at sunrise:

On this day we went with Caleb to a more remote region of the Mara, as we were looking for the rarest animal of the so-called "Big Five": a rhino. Caleb said that there are only about 20 black rhinos left in the reserve, which are even rarer and, as they live in the bushes, even harder to find than white rhinos.
Caleb had heard that one had been sighted. We looked for it for a long time, but we had no luck. Instead, we found a group of young elephants:

And a bee-eater:

We finally returned to the camp at noon without rhino pictures.
As the highlight of the day we found the young leopard again in the afternoon, which we had photographed three days before. This time we could watch it for almost an hour and got very close again. Caleb always found an optimal position with the jeep. So many nice shots could be taken:

At the end of the day there was again a marvellous sunset:

And then the usual evening ritual with showers, drinks at the campfire and Obis dinner. Tomorrow we want to try again to find a rhino, so we will start at 6:15am with Caleb.
