November 6th, 2025

The weather was very bad again today. After the rather strenuous tour the day before, we thought a quiet day would be nice for a change. So we slept in, had a leisurely breakfast, and then started planning our trip to South Africa together, which is scheduled for September next year. We were also looking forward to another highlight of the trip, tonight’s dinner at the Smak restaurant, which had been pushed forward to 6:30 p.m.

We then went into town and bought warm hats with ear flaps for our trip to Spitsbergen planned for March 2026.

Then, at around 6:15 p.m., we took our rental car to the Smak restaurant, which we had already visited on our first trip to Tromsø and had greatly appreciated. We parked the car and dutifully paid the parking fee via EasyPark until the next morning, as none of us wanted to miss out on the impressive wine pairing with the menu. When we arrived at the Smak restaurant, they even remembered us.

Dinner was once again an incomparable experience. Again, there were only about 16 guests with us. Everything was freshly prepared before our eyes, artfully presented, and served with great friendliness. Almost exclusively local fresh products were used in the preparation. The accompanying wines were all very well chosen.

To round off the overall artistic impression, there were also various plates and bowls as well as beautiful cutlery. It was a culinary celebration. But pictures say more than a thousand words:

At around 11:30 p.m., we finally reached the 17th course, the petit fours. It was sensational once again, and it certainly won’t be the last time we visit this restaurant.

We then took a taxi back to our apartment.
