On the last morning of our trip, the sky was completely free of clouds for the first time. Here is the morning view from the hotel room:

As our return flight doesn’t take off until around 7 pm, we took advantage of the beautiful weather for one last excursion. After packaging our bags and a last good breakfast at the hotel, we checked out, loaded our luggage into the car and drove north across Sandnessundbrua one last time.

Tromsø gave us a particularly beautiful day to say goodbye. It was freezing cold at minus 10 °C, but the sky had cleared and the light was incredibly beautiful. We drove around the beautiful spots once again, enjoyed the winter and the landscape and took lots of photos. We also used the drone again.

First, we drove back to the Ersfjord. Then we wanted to drive to the island of Sommerøy again, but the road to the island was closed due to a marathon race and we had to turn back halfway. On the way back, it was already getting darker and the moon and Venus appeared in the sky.

We then drove back to the airport, refueled the rental car and then returned it to Hertz in the airport terminal without any problems. At the airport we had a small snack, checked in our luggage and waited for departure. Our plane arrived on time.

The return flight took off on time and was unspectacular. We were even able to see faint northern lights from the plane one last time.

We were a little sad that our time in Tromsø was over. It was a wonderful trip. As we enjoyed Tromsø and the surrounding area so much, we have already planned another trip there in November 2025.
