Dota

Dota is a sparse­ly pop­u­lat­ed region in the cen­ter of Cos­ta Rica. It is locat­ed in the high­lands at an aver­age alti­tude of 1,800m and had a pop­u­la­tion of just under 7,000 in 2011, liv­ing in an area of around 400 km². The Dota cloud forests are famous for their abun­dance of birds. In par­tic­u­lar, we want­ed to watch the endem­ic quet­zal there again - which we man­aged to do.
